On the 14th of July, the MERS group wrapped up the academic year with an exciting kayaking excursion in the Catalonian town of Sant Feliu de GuĂxols, nestled along the beautiful Costa Brava coastline. Bathed in the warm Mediterranean sun, the team came together for a day of adventure and appreciation for the natural world.

As the teams’ kayaks navigated the calm waters, they were treated to breathtaking views of rugged cliffs, hidden coves, and the vibrant marine life below. Their experienced guide led them across the bay and through sea caves to secluded corners of the coast where they stopped for snorkeling and sunbathing in the rocks.

For many in the group, this kayaking expedition was the perfect way to cap off a year of hard work and academic achievements. It offered a chance to appreciate nature beyond their regular research interests. It was also a great opportunity to get together with colleagues as friends outside their common workplace.

We leave you with some pictures of the event!
